China's Reason For Not Shooting Down Pelosi's Plane

A few days before the chairman of the United States House of Representatives (DPR), Nancy Pelosi, arrived in Taiwan, there was an uproar about the possibility that China could shoot down Pelosi's plane.
As reported by Newsweek, a columnist at state media Global Times, Hu Xijing, said China could have shot down Pelosi's plane.

"If US warplanes escort Pelosi planes to Taiwan, it is invasion. [China's military has the right to forcibly repel Pelosi planes and US fighter jets, including firing warning shots and making tactical moves to blockade. If not effective, they can shoot down planes." it fell," Hu said in a Twitter statement.

Meanwhile, China's Ministry of Defense had emphasized that Pelosi's visit to Taiwan violated the One China principle, and endangered the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Bamboo Curtain country.

But until Pelosi left Taiwan, China did not shoot down the high-ranking US official's plane. So, what caused China not to shoot down Pelosi's plane?

Former US House Speaker Newt Gingrich in an interview with Fox News via Taiwan News assessed that if China shot down Pelosi's plane, it would be an act of war.

"The worst-case scenario is that they [China] shoot down Pelosi's plane. It is an act of war and we have no other choice but to retaliate massively. People often forget that the US, despite its weaknesses in the Pentagon, despite doing various stupid acts, still has capabilities strong military," Gingrich told Fox News, quoted by Taiwan News.

In addition, Gingrich believes that China does not have a strong position to bully the US.

"With our allies in Australia and Japan and various other areas, we were able to isolate China quickly," Gingrich said.

"If they can't export, they fall into poverty, and their cities start to fill with unemployment. If they can't export, they starve, so China isn't in a strong position to try to bully the US, and I think we need to admit that." he continued.
