M2 Bradley For Ukraine Shown In Pixelated Digital Camouflage Paint

After being shipped from the Port of North Charleston in South Carolina in mid-February, now 60 M2 Bradleys should have arrived in Poland or Ukraine. And there is a surprise, the Infantry Fighting Vehicle is known to have changed paint. If when it was shipped it still used desert brown paint, now it has changed drastically to suit the new field of operation.

From the photo posted by the Defense of Ukraine – @DefenceU account, it seems that M2 Bradleys for Ukraine is starting to get new paint, which indicates that the ranpur is getting closer to entering the battlefield. Photos show at least one M2 Bradley unit already sporting a typical Ukrainian pixelated digital camouflage scheme and the second one is all green.

Another photo showing M2 Bradley in digital camouflage in the trailer is also circulating online. The photo is of very low quality and it is unclear whether this is the same Bradley seen in the Tweet from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence.

The camouflage pattern looks different in places and there is a white arrow painted on the left side of the hull which is not visible on the vehicle in the other photos. Of course, both photos could show the same vehicle, but at a different time with different paintwork.

A camouflage scheme with pixelated sections in various shades of green, brown and black over a green base coat, has been commonly applied to armored vehicles. Another vehicle that the Ukrainian military received as a donation from the West is also seen using the pixel scheme. Several captured Russian rampur types were also repainted in the same camouflage.

It is unknown where exactly the photo of the M2 Bradley in pixelated camouflage was taken or when. The Bradley seen in both photos is notably 'missing' the barrel of the Bushmaster's 25mm M242 automatic gun in the turret. Which is usually removed before repainting or being transported across long distances.

The M2 Bradley is armed with an ATK Gun Systems Company M242 25mm Bushmaster Chain Gun, plus a 7.62mm M240C machine gun mounted coaxially to the right of the gun barrel. The 25 mm gun has dual-feed rate capability and the shooter can choose single shots, in terms of performance, a gun rate of 100 or 200 projectiles per minute.
